Other then Reinhold Messner there was Renato Casarotto from Vicenza, Italy. He could not climb the summit and was very dejected. I could not know him much due to language barrier. He could not speak English. He returned again and died attempting K2 again on 16 July 1986. Michel Dacher was from Germany and my tent mate. A very fine man. It was him and Reinhold Messner who were part of first assault team for the summit and both succeeded. Michel was a good climber he died on 3 Longchamp sacs December 1994 at the age of 61. IIRC (and my memory is rusty, this comment might be enough to give you some google search terms) it is from way back in DOS. It was the only keystroke sequence that a program could not add an interrupt to. Back in the day a TSR program like Sidekick could add an interrupt handler (to 09h?) that would register its key sequence. When the user pressed the sequence then Sidekick could intercept it and then display itself. CtrlAltDel on a DOS system would reboot it, so maybe Microsoft decided not to let anyone else use it.
